Terms of Service
Last updated: July 11, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully and in their entirety before creating an account or using any part of Market For The Blind. By registering, browsing, posting a listing, or interacting with any other user through this platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use this site.
1. About This Platform
Market For The Blind is a community marketplace platform designed to allow approved users to post, browse, buy, sell, trade, or give away items and services. The platform operates as a venue only. Market For The Blind, its owners, staff, moderators, and any affiliated individuals or entities (collectively referred to as "we," "us," "our," or "the platform") do not buy, sell, or participate in any transaction between users. We are not a party to any agreement or exchange made between users of this site.
2. No Liability for Transactions
All transactions, exchanges, trades, sales, purchases, and arrangements made between users are conducted entirely between those users as independent private parties. Market For The Blind and its owners, staff, and moderators are not responsible for and cannot be held liable for any transaction that takes place through or as a result of using this platform, regardless of how that transaction is arranged, negotiated, or completed.
This includes but is not limited to: failed transactions, incomplete transactions, fraudulent transactions, disputes between buyers and sellers, misrepresentation of items or services, items lost or damaged during shipping, items that do not arrive, items that do not match their description, payments sent and not received, payments received and goods not delivered, financial loss of any kind, emotional distress, or any other harm resulting directly or indirectly from a transaction made through this platform.
By using this platform you agree that you will not hold Market For The Blind, its owners, staff, moderators, or any affiliated individuals liable for any outcome of any transaction, successful or otherwise.
3. No Liability for Items or Services Listed
Market For The Blind does not inspect, test, certify, endorse, or guarantee any item or service listed on this platform. We make no representations or warranties regarding the quality, safety, legality, authenticity, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose of any item or service posted by any user.
Users who purchase or receive items through this platform do so entirely at their own risk. Market For The Blind cannot be held responsible for items that are defective, mislabeled, counterfeit, unsafe, not as described, or otherwise unsatisfactory.
4. User Responsibility for Transactions
Users are solely responsible for conducting their transactions safely, honestly, and responsibly. All users are strongly encouraged to use reputable, traceable, and secure payment methods when exchanging money. We strongly discourage sending cash by mail, using gift cards as payment, or using any payment method that cannot be disputed or reversed in the event of fraud. Users assume full responsibility for the payment method they choose.
When shipping physical items, use reputable carriers with tracking, delivery confirmation, and insurance. Sellers are responsible for packaging items safely and shipping them in a timely manner. Buyers are responsible for confirming their shipping address and communicating any special requirements.
All users agree to represent themselves, their items, and their services honestly and to the best of their ability, and to follow through on any transaction they agree to.
5. Accurate Contact Information
All users are required to provide valid, accurate, and current contact information including their name, email address, and phone number at registration. Users are responsible for keeping this information up to date at all times. Your contact details may be shared with another user via a private server-sent email in the event that an offer is accepted â they are never displayed publicly on the website.
Market For The Blind does not verify the accuracy of contact information provided by users and cannot be held responsible for failed communications resulting from outdated or incorrect information. Providing false contact information is a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension.
6. Listing Rules and Content Standards
All listings are subject to administrator review and approval before becoming visible on the site. Approval is at the sole and unreviewable discretion of the administration. Market For The Blind reserves the right to reject or remove any listing at any time for any reason. The following standards apply to all listings:
- Listings must accurately and thoroughly describe the item or service being offered.
- The condition of items must be honestly represented.
- Prices must be clearly stated in US dollars.
- Listings must fall within an appropriate category.
- Listings must not violate any applicable laws or regulations.
- Each listing should represent a single item, or a small set of items naturally sold together as one unit (for example, a device along with its case, charger, and manual). Sellers with multiple separate, unrelated items should create a separate listing for each one. This helps buyers find what they are looking for and ensures items appear in the correct categories.
- Suspicious, vague, or incomplete listings will not be approved and will not be made visible to other users. Whether a listing is suspicious or unsuitable is entirely at the staff's discretion.
7. Wanted Ads
Market For The Blind allows approved members to post wanted ads when they are looking for a specific item. The following rules apply to wanted ads:
- One active wanted ad at a time. Members may have only one active wanted ad at any time. A new wanted ad may not be submitted until the existing one has expired or been resolved.
- Wanted ads are reviewed before appearing. All wanted ads are reviewed by staff before they are published. Staff may reject a wanted ad that is too vague, requests a prohibited item, or violates site rules.
- Wanted ads expire after 30 days. Wanted ads are automatically removed 30 days after approval. Members may submit a new wanted ad after their previous one has expired.
- Seller contact must be genuine. When a seller uses the contact feature to share a listing with a wanted-ad poster, they must confirm that their contact is genuine and relevant. Sending unsolicited, irrelevant, or abusive contact through this feature is a violation of site rules and may result in a strike or permanent ban.
- Wanted ads are free. There is no fee to post a wanted ad. The standard listing fee applies only to for-sale listings.
- Prohibited requests. Wanted ads requesting prohibited items (see Section 8 below) will be rejected and may result in account action.
8. Prohibited Items and Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on Market For The Blind and will result in immediate listing removal and may result in account suspension or permanent banning:
- Illegal items or services. Listings for controlled substances, illegal drugs, stolen goods, counterfeit items, or anything prohibited by applicable law are not permitted under any circumstances.
- Weapons. Firearms, ammunition, knives intended as weapons, or any other weapons or weapon accessories are not permitted.
- Adult or sexual content. Listings for adult products, sexual services, or any content of a sexual nature are strictly prohibited.
- Harassment and abuse. Threatening, harassing, intimidating, or abusing other users in any communication on or off the platform is prohibited and may result in an immediate ban.
- Scamming or deception. Any attempt to defraud, mislead, or deceive another user â including misrepresenting items, impersonating others, or staging fake transactions â is prohibited and is cause for an immediate permanent ban.
- Bypassing platform procedures. Any attempt to circumvent the offer system, payment process, moderation procedures, or any other platform policy is prohibited and will result in immediate account banning. Evidence of such conduct is grounds for an immediate ban at the sole discretion of the administration.
- Poor transaction conduct. Documented evidence of dishonest, unsafe, or harmful behavior during a transaction â submitted to and verified by staff â is cause for account banning at staff's discretion.
8. Listing Description Requirements
Sellers are required to provide clear, honest, and thorough descriptions of their items and services. Descriptions must include relevant details such as the item's condition, any known defects, dimensions or specifications where applicable, and anything else a reasonable buyer would want to know. Deliberately vague, misleading, or incomplete descriptions are a violation of these terms and may result in listing removal or a strike on the account.
9. Contact Information and URLs in Listings
To protect user privacy and maintain a safe platform, users are strongly advised not to include personal contact information such as email addresses or phone numbers in listing titles, descriptions, or keyword fields. The platform provides a secure offer system for connecting buyers and sellers, and contact details are exchanged privately by email only after an offer is accepted.
If a URL is included in a listing description, it will appear as plain text only and will not be displayed as a clickable hyperlink. Users who need to share supporting files should use the file upload feature or the optional external link field provided in the listing form.
10. The Offer and Contact Exchange System
Buyers interested in a listing submit a formal offer through the platform. The seller is notified by email with links to accept or decline. If the seller accepts, both the buyer's and seller's contact details are sent to each party by private server-to-server email only. Contact information is never displayed on any page of the website at any time. This system exists to protect user privacy and to prevent automated collection of personal information.
11. Listing Fees and Payments
A non-refundable listing fee of one dollar ($1.00 USD) is required to post a listing unless a valid coupon code is applied. This fee is processed through PayPal. All standard listing fees are strictly non-refundable, including if a listing is rejected after payment, removed by staff, expires without a sale, or if a transaction does not complete for any reason. By submitting a listing and completing the PayPal payment, you acknowledge and accept this non-refundable policy.
Premium advertising slots carry a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00 USD) per twenty-one-day period, also processed through PayPal. If a premium ad submission is rejected by staff, the $50.00 fee will be refunded in full to the original payment method. If a premium ad is approved and goes live, the fee is non-refundable for any reason, including early removal at the advertiser's request or removal by staff due to a policy violation discovered after approval.
Market For The Blind is not responsible for any fees, errors, or issues arising from PayPal's processing of your payment. For PayPal-related issues, contact PayPal support directly.
12. Feedback and Ratings
After a transaction is confirmed by both parties, both the buyer and the seller are required to submit a feedback rating before they can continue to fully use the marketplace. Feedback ratings are Positive, Neutral, or Negative, with an optional comment of up to 1000 characters. Ratings must be honest and based on the actual transaction experience. Each user's lock is released as soon as they personally submit their own feedback â you are not required to wait for the other party to submit theirs.
Submitting false, retaliatory, or abusive feedback is a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension. Feedback builds the community's reputation system and is an essential part of maintaining trust on the platform. Feedback cannot be skipped or waived.
13. Strike Policy
Market For The Blind operates a three-strike policy for user violations. When a staff member determines that a user has violated these terms, they may issue a formal strike to that user's account. Each strike is accompanied by an email explaining the reason for the strike, a summary of the site rules, and a link to these terms. Strikes are displayed on the user's account record.
A user who accumulates three strikes will be permanently banned from the platform. Staff may skip the strike process and proceed directly to an immediate ban in cases of serious violations. All strike and banning decisions are made at the sole and unreviewable discretion of the administration.
14. Account Banning
Users may be permanently banned from Market For The Blind for any reason at any time at the discretion of the administration. Reasons that will result in banning include but are not limited to: accumulating three strikes, evidence of scamming or deception, harassment of users or staff, bypassing any platform procedure or rule, posting prohibited content, or any conduct that the administration determines is harmful to the community.
Banned users will receive an email explaining the reason for their ban. When a banned user attempts to log in, they will be shown a message explaining that their account is permanently banned and will not be able to access the site.
Banning decisions are final. If you believe a ban was issued in error, you may contact us at contact staff, but the administration's decision is final and is not subject to appeal.
15. No Liability for Downtime or Technical Issues
Market For The Blind is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at any particular time, function without interruption, or that any data will be preserved without loss. Market For The Blind, its owners, staff, and hosting providers cannot be held liable for any downtime, service interruptions, data loss, maintenance, unexpected errors, or any other technical issue that may arise from normal or abnormal operation of the website, including any financial loss or missed opportunities resulting from inability to access the platform.
16. External Links
Listings may contain links to external websites. Market For The Blind has no control over external websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, safety, or accuracy. Visiting any external link is done entirely at your own risk. We are not liable for any harm, downloads, data loss, or financial damage resulting from visiting an external website accessed through a link found on this platform.
17. Privacy
Information collected during registration and platform use is used solely for the purpose of operating and moderating Market For The Blind. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information with law enforcement if required by law or if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to protect the safety of users or the public. All activity on the platform is logged permanently for moderation and accountability purposes.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Market For The Blind, its owners, staff, moderators, and affiliated individuals shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind arising from your use of or inability to use this platform, any transaction or interaction with another user, any content posted on the platform by any user, or any other matter relating to this platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the platform or its content is to stop using the platform.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Market For The Blind, its owners, staff, and moderators from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or any transaction or dispute between you and another user.
20. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time without prior individual notice. The updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
21. Contact
If you have questions, concerns, or complaints regarding these terms or your experience on the platform, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to respond in a timely manner.
By using Market For The Blind you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, that you have read and understood these Terms of Service in their entirety, and that you agree to be bound by them.
